As outdoor enthusiasts, we agree that the earth is a place of wonder. Whether we are rock climbing, canyoneering, trail-running, mountain biking, or whatever outdoor activity it may be, there is a commonality in each pursuit: to explore and to experience nature. Trail-running in particular has become increasingly popular in recent years, encouraging people from every walk of life to travel and discover earth’s landscape on foot.
The human capacity for endurance has proved to be much more than what was believed in the past. It is not uncommon for a runner to travel 30, 50, or 100 miles in a single stretch. However, to accomplish these feats safely, it is essential to be well-prepared. Plenty of water, food, sun protection, first aid supplies, clothing, etc., make traveling these distances possible. Yet suddenly, when we add all of our necessary supplies together, ultra trail-running becomes more of a backpacking trip than an efficient way to see some incredible places. How else would one carry these supplies if not on their bodies?
That brings us to the point of this article: Crew My Run, a trail-running inspired group providing shuttle’s and back-country aid. Crew My Run allows runners to travel light. The “crew” will drop you off at the desired starting point, provide aid-station care at periodic checkpoints during the run, and then pick you up when you’re finished.
